✨✧ Roky EricksonEvil One (purple vinyl pressing) ... LP
Light In The Attic, 1981. New Copy 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
Roky Erickson's fantastic early 80s material with The Aliens – tracks that were produced by Creedence Clearwater Revival's Stu Cook – with some of the most straight-forward and accessible rockers in Roky's canon, but still sporting his trademark eccentricity! Given his mythical personal history, you can easy describe Roky Erickson as "having demons" – but as you'll hear, he's also got two-headed dogs, vampires, zombies, fire demons, ghosts and Lucifer himself – just on this one record! The tracks have an odd release history – having been recorded in the late 70s, but not released until 1980 in the UK on the Five Symbols record, and in '81 as The Evil One LP, with an altered tracklist. This definitive Light In The Attic version gathers up all 15 amazing tracks from the Stu Cook sessions from '77-'79. Includes the legendary "Two Headed Dog" and many more tunes that are just as incredible! Titles include "I Walked With A Zombie", "Night Of The Vampire", "It's A Cold Night For Alligators", "Mine Mine Mind", "I Think Of Demons", "Creature With The Atom Brain", "Bloody Hammer", "Don't Shake Me Lucifer", "If You Have Ghosts" and more. ✨✧ VariousFor Millionaires Only Vol 4 ... CD
Goldmine (UK), Late 60s/Early 70s. Used ... Out Of Stock
The Goldmine series of "For Millionaires Only" releases is designed to capture the finest of the rare soul 45 scene – with a strong focus on the Northern Soul material that drives the underground scene in the UK. This latest offering in the series is a great one – and it's filled with an excellent mixture of rare group and single artist sides – most of which we never ever see on wax. The sound quality shows that many of the tracks had to be taken from original vinyl sources – but the overall quality of the music is excellent, and the CD's a great one if you dig older soul. Titles include "Heart Breaking Man" by Sonny Fishback, "Tell You About My Girl" by Johnny James, "Hey You! Don't Fight It" by The Montclairs, "You Ain't No Good" by Modern Soul Trio, "Discontented" by Phil Flowers & The Underdogs, "Why (I Want To Know)" by Nat Hall, "Why" by Willie Mason & All The King's Men, "Say Yes Baby" by The Matadors, "Without You" by The Stunners, and "I Won't Cry" by Tony Daniels. Great stuff – and 20 cuts in all! CD
