✨✧ Sheila ESheila E In The Glamorous Life ... 12-inch
Paisley Park, 1984. Near Mint- ... $6.99
A fantastic meeting of two generations of soulful music – Sheila E, the daughter of Cali Latin soul genius Coke Escovedo, meets up with the snappingly funky world of Prince – and results in one of the strongest records of Sheila's career! The singer/percussionist had already been around for about a decade on record – turning out some great Latin work with her brother Pete in the Bay Area – but this set has Sheila going of the top with a great Paisley Park groove, really working with lots of influences from Prince, but still also getting plenty of Latin elements of her own into the mix – on long tracks that are filled with wonderful rhythms and plenty of great percussion too! Titles include the sublime title cut "The Glamorous Life" – plus "The Belle Of St Mark", "Oliver's House", "Strawberry Shortcake", "Noon Rendezvous", and "Next Time Wipe The Lipstick Off Your Collar". 12-inch, Vinyl record
(Cover has light wear and is bent near the top seam.)

A catchy little groover from one of our favorite side-spots in the 80s Prince universe – a cut that's arranged and produced by Clare Fischer, but surprisingly funky overall! 7-inch, Vinyl record

PrinceAround The World In A Day ... LP
Paisley Park, 1985. Very Good+ Gatefold ... $19.99
A mad bit of psychedelic soul from Prince – a record that sounds better and better over the years, and which stands out from most of his 80s work thanks to some really unique production and songwriting! After Purple Rain, Prince did anything but freeze up in the face of living up to such a massive crossover smash – and instead stepped sideways nicely with a fresh approach to his sound – on a record that puts the "Paisley" in Paisley Park! The album mixes core Prince funk with some nicely playful touches – hardly classic psych, but that refined version that was floating around in the mid 80s – maybe mis-named, but used to great effect here. The album's a gem through and through – and titles include"Raspberry Beret", "Paisley Park","Around The World In A Day", "America", "Temptation", "Pop Life", and "Condition Of The Heart". LP, Vinyl record album
(Fold-over flap is missing. Cover has light wear.)

PrinceDiamonds & Pearls ... LP
Paisley Park/Warner, 1991. Very Good+ 2LP ... $59.99
A big new chapter for Prince in the 90s – his first set with the New Power Generation, and a record that definitely has him amping up his game for the decade! There's maybe a bit more sampling here, and a groove that certainly has one ear open for the younger sound of R&B at the time – while still coming across with all that care, class, and top-shelf vibe that made Prince's work of the previous generation such an important funky influence on the younger crowd who were growing up with equal parts soul and hip hop to influence their sound. Tracks include "Daddy Pop", "Diamonds", "Cream", "Insatiable", "Live 4 Love", "Push", "Money Don't Matter 2 Night", "Jughead", "Gett Off", "Walk Don't Walk", "Strollin", and "Willing & Able". LP, Vinyl record album
(EU pressing in an unembossed cover, with some edge wear, price sticker remnants, and bent corners. Includes the printed inner sleeves.)

✨✧ PrinceI Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man/Hot Thing (edit, extended rmx, dub) ... 12-inch
Paisley Park, 1987. Near Mint- (pic cover)... Just Sold Out!
One of the most standout tracks on the Sign O The Times double LP – a tune that has the same catchy crossover vibe as Prince's material from the Purple Rain years – with a monster hook that really keeps the whole thing going! The core tune here is presented next to a whopping three versions of "Hot Thing" – one of which keeps the funky groove going for almost nine minutes! 12-inch, Vinyl record
(Cover has light ringwear.)

PrinceIf I Was Your Girlfriend (extended)/Shockadelica (extended) ... 12-inch
Paisley Park, 1987. Very Good (pic cover)... $6.99
A fantastic setting for "If I Was Your Girlfriend" – a wonderfully nasty slow funk number from Prince – backed here by the even-better "Shockadelica" – a fuzzy, raspy number that wasn't issued on any full length album at the time! 12-inch, Vinyl record
(German pressing. Cover has light wear, a few small peel spots and a lightly bent corner.)

✨✧ PrinceKiss/Love Or Money ... 12-inch
Paisley Park/Warner, 1986. Near Mint- (pic cover)... Out Of Stock
Classic! Although folks had been saying for years that Prince was funky, "Kiss" was the first tune to really have him going to town on the instruments – in a way that we always expect from a true funk act, but not so much for the pop charts – reason alone to adore this one! The track snaps along with an intensity that makes it an instant classic groover – and flip side "Love Or Money" is a pretty nice track too! 12-inch, Vinyl record
(Cover has light wear and yellowing from age.)

It's the late 80s and after the decision to keep the Black album in the can, Prince gives us Lovesexy. Not his finest moment, but far from his weakest, with more than a couple nice numbers like "Alphabet Street", "Lovesexy", "When 2 R In Love" and "Anna Stesia". LP, Vinyl record album

PrinceMusic From Graffiti Bridge ... LP
Paisley Park, 1990. Near Mint- 2LP ... $69.99 79.99
The fourth Prince soundtrack in less than a decade – and a record that follows nicely after Purple Rain, Batman, and Parade, but with a slightly different spirit too – thanks to an ever-expanding Paisley Park family that included George Clinton, Morris Day, and Mavis Staples! The older funk acts are fine, and add to the spice – but it's clear that the main attraction here is Prince, although The Time are pretty darn welcome too! The set features vocal performances from Tevin Campbell, George Clinton, Mavis Staples, TC Ellis, and Robin Power – and titles include "New Power Generation", "Can't Stop This Feeling I Got", "Love Machine", "Tick Tick Bang", "Shake", "Thieves In The Temple", "Still Would Stand All Time", "Graffiti Bridge", and "The Latest Fashion". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes the printed inner sleeves. Cover has a cutout notch, faint ring impressions, a "Compliments Of Image" sticker in back, and is lightly bent at the top left corner.)

✨✧ PrinceParade ... LP
Paisley Park, 1986. Very Good+ Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
Prince in a grand groove – really hitting a new level of funk with a razor-sharp edge – and even blowing away some of his work on previous records! The record's a soundtrack for a film – Under The Cherry Moon – and although that movie never had the success of Purple Rain, we actually think it left behind an even stronger musical legacy – one that has Prince finding even more of a funky voice than before, with so many wonderfully freaky twists and turns! The music never got the showcase it might have deserved, because of the failure of the film – but it's one of our favorite Prince albums ever, and includes the massively funky "Kiss", the closest Prince ever got to James Brown, The whole album's got some great sweeping, pop psyche orchestral arrangements by Clare Fischer – and titles include "Christopher Tracey's Parade", "I Wonder U", "Under The Cherry Moon", "Girls & Boys", and "Anotherloverholenyohead". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has a cutout notch and minimal wear.)

✨✧ PrinceRaspberry Beret (new mix)/She's Always In My Hair (new mix) ... 12-inch
Paisley Park, 1985. Near Mint- (pic cover)... Out Of Stock
A sweet sweet classic from Prince – a tune that was hailed as a move to psychedelic modes at the time, but which was really just a way for the singer to open up a whole new side of his talents! "Raspberry Beret" is wonderfully catchy – but it's also got a groove that's maybe a bit less sexy than some other Prince material – almost as if he's more laidback and confident, he can just breeze into the tune in a mighty nice way. The flipside's equally nice – and the single's one of the classic pic sleeve 12" from Prince's huge 80s run! 12-inch, Vinyl record
(Cover has peeled spots down the right side in front.)

✨✧ PrinceSign O The Times ... LP
Paisley Park/Warner, 1987. Very Good+ 2LP ... Out Of Stock
A fantastic record from Prince – a double-length set that came out at a time when the purple one was brimming over with energy and new ideas – and a step slightly in the direction of more socially conscious material! Everything that was great about Prince before the record is completely intact – his amazing ability to create funky grooves, slinky sensuality, and songs that are so catchy, they can win over audiences on both sides of the fence. But there's also some deeper elements here going on too – maybe more space for thoughtful presentation spread out over the 2LPs that comprised the original record – at a level that's only more confirmation of the never-ending genius of prince! Titles include the great title cut "Sign O The Times" – plus "Strange Relationship", "Slow Love", "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night", "Adore", "Ballad Of Dorothy Parker", "Housequake", "U Got The Look", "If I Was Your Girlfriend", "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man", "The Cross", "Hot Thing", and "Starfish & Coffee". Sure, the politics seem a bit silly now – but the track's still one of Prince's last really compelling hits. It's got a totally infectious hook, a spare Timmy Thomas-ish beat, and a strangely captivating vocal that really sticks with us! The flip's a bit silly – a 10 minute extended number with a silly jam kind of feel – but it's also a great testament to the freedom that Prince was allowed on his 12" singles – which makes them every bit as essential as his albums. 12-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Rick JamesWonderful ... LP
Reprise, 1987. Near Mint- Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
Rick James makes the move away from Motown here – heading over to Warner/Reprise, in the Prince side of the spectrum – along with a cover image that has him wearing a paisley costume on top of a purple background – in a way that could well make the buyer think that Rick's working with Prince! But despite these Prince-like trappings (which also include some more Purple Rain-ish costumes on the inside cover), Rick's still writing, producing, and arranging himself – hitting a groove that clearly inspired by the success of his Paisley Park competition, but which is also kind of a natural extension of the Rick James funk sound into the end of the 80s. Roxanne Shante and Big Daddy Kane make some guest appearances on the album – and titles include "Loosey's Rap", "Hypnotize", "I Believe In U", "In The Girl's Room", "Sherry Baby", "Love's Fire", "Wonderful", "So Tight", and "Sexual Luv Affair". LP, Vinyl record album
