Maggot Brain/Third Man, 2021. New Copy ... $8.99 12.00
The wonderful Raincoats are on the cover this time around, and the issue looks at the way their once-overlooked music has gone on to get the attention it deserved, and keep on having an influence over generations to come! There's lots more too – a very interesting piece that has Terry Riley and Hamid Drake commenting on Don and Moki Cherry, a set of unpublished AC/DC photos from 1977, the duo of guitarists Marisa Anderson and William Tyler, unseen collage art from Jim Jarmusch, an interview with singer/songwriter Tim Rutili, the rebirth of singer Merry Clayton, a cool collection musical artifacts at the Henry Ford Museum, 13 pages from issue #2 of Gary Panter's Jimbo comic, and lots more cool stuff too – the sort of articles that have continued to make Maggot Brain one of the most interesting magazines in recent years! ✨✧ WireIssue 446 – April 2021 (with bonus CD) ... Magazine
Wire, 2021. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
That's Warren Ellis on the cover, and the issue features a nice article on his work with Nick Cave, Marianne Faithfull, and others – although the main draw for us is a great look at the early years of Don Cherry in Watts – back when he was a key part of the LA underground, in a detailed article accompanied by some great vintage photos! The issue also has a feature on Angolan producer Nazar, plus singer Nakui Krishnamurthy, composer Ann Rosen, and the great Japanese saxophonist Kohsuke Mine. There's lots more too – including a nice piece by Val Wilmer, William Parker on Ornette Coleman at the Golden Circle, and Mike Paradinas and Lara Rix Martin on the Invisible Jukebox! Also includes a bonus CD – with music by Muslimgauze, Craig Scott's Lobotomy, Gentle Fire, Nun Gun, Mariel Roberts, Mazz Mann, Carlos Nino, and others. Magazine
(Includes The Wire Tapper 55 CD!)
