✨✧ Betty CarterWhatever Happened To Love? ... LP
Bet Car, 1982. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Betty Carter recording with strings – one of her first recordings of the type in years, done for her own hip label! The session starts with Betty's core trio that includes Khalid Moss on piano, Curtis Lundy on bass, and Lewis Nash on drums – then adds in larger string arrangements by David Amram. The set was recorded live, and the strings really stay in the background – never overwhelming, and instead just couching and cuddling the piano, bass, and drums to bring out an extra level of warmth and sensitivity. Titles include "Abre La Puerta", "I Cry Alone", "New Blues", "What A Little Moonlight Can Do", "Social Call", and "With No Words". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has light wear.)

Kenny Dorham with Cannonball AdderleyBlue Spring ... LP
Riverside, 1959. Near Mint- ... $34.99
A pretty warm and lyrical set by Kenny – accompanied here by a larger group that includes Cecil Payne, David Amram, and Cannonball Adderley on horns, plus a young Cedar Walton on piano. Dorham wrote 4 of the album's tracks, and they provide a perfect showcase for his polished trumpet style. Titles include "Spring Cannon", "Blue Spring", "Poetic", and "Passion Spring". LP, Vinyl record album
(80s OJC pressing. Cover has light wear.)
