✨✧ BeatnutsIntoxicated Demons - The EP (red vinyl pressing) ... LP
Relativity, 1993. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
Just an EP, but a record that packs more of a punch than most full length hip hop sets of the time! The album was the Beatnuts' first, and maybe they wisely thought they'd keep things lean, and leave the audience wanting more – as they mix together six key tracks with some shorter interludes – really mastering things right from the start with production that embraces all the jazzy changes and thoughtful sample inspirations of the time! The record's right up there with massive classics from Pete Rock, Pharcyde, and other contemporaries – and cuts include "Reign of the Tec", "No Equal", "World's Famous", and "Psycho Dwarf." ✨✧ BeatnutsStreet Level ... CD
Relativity, 1994. Used ... Out Of Stock
The first Beatnuts full length LP – raw NYC hip hop at it's early-to-mid 90s finest! Raw, funky and jazzy beatcraft that's pretty much a blueprint for some of our east coast hip hop of the era, with sharp, on point rhymes, this one's a pure classic and it holds up incredibly well after all these years. Includes "Props Over Here", "Psycho Dwarf", "Hellraiser", "Ya Don't Stop", "Are You Ready" featuring Grand Puba, "Hit Me With That", "2-3 Break" and more. CD

CommonCan I Borrow A Dollar? ... CD
Relativity, 1992. Used ... $12.99
Common's full length debut – back when he was known as Common Sense. This one's a little more uptempo and overall less serious than "Resurrection", and a few cuts that are as good as anything on that LP – Common went on to a pretty diverse career, and this is the blueprint material for his most respected records. Production by Twilight Tone, Immenslope, and the Beatnuts. Includes "Penny For My Thoughts", "Soul by the Pound", "Take It Eazy", "Breaker 1/9", "Two Scoops of Raisins", "Tricks Up My Sleeve", Blows To The Temple" and more. CD

CommonThisisme Then – Best Of Common ... LP
Relativity, 1990s. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold ... $19.99
An overview of Common's early days on Relativity – featuring a few tracks each from Can I Borrow A Dollar?, Resurrection and One Day It Will All Make Sense – a strong sampler of his earlier greatness, if it breaks off way too early to be a genuine best of! Quibble as me might with the title, a compilation of Com's Relativity-era work is long overdue – and it's a display of his 90s Chi hip hop style. If you only came aboard with Like Water For Chocolate or Be, you need to take a look back! Benchmark work with production by Immenslope & Twilite Tone, No ID, Beatnuts and more. Tracks include "Take It EZ", "Breaker 1/9", "Soul By The Pound", "Charms Alarm", "Heidi Hoe", "I Used To Love HER", "Resurrection", "Thisisme", "Retrospect For Life" feat Lauryn Hill, "All Night Long" feat Erykah Badu, "GOD" featruing Cee Lo, "High Expectations" and more. ✨✧ Mad SkillzFrom Where??? ... CD
Big Beat/Atlantic, 1996. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Overlooked genius from Madd Skillz! He's one of those MCs from the mid 90s (like Supernatural) who everyone was watching, did loads of mixtape appearances, put out something on a LP on a major label, and then just about disappeared. He deserved more! Tuere's some really dope tracks that let you know why everyone was paying attention – most notably "Nod Factor", and some nice tight mid 90s beats, including a couple of early pre-Ummah Jay Dee tracks, plus the Beatnuts, Large Professor, Buckwild and Shawn J Period. 16 tracks including "Doin' Time In Tha Cypha", "It's Going Down", "Extra Abstract Skills", "Move Ya Body" and more. ✨✧ Madd RapperTell Em Why U Madd ... LP
Crazy Cat, 1999. Near Mint- 2LP ... Out Of Stock
You may remember Deric "D-Dot" Agelettie (aka the Madd Rapper) from Two Kings In A Cipher, or because he had a hand in producing just about anything that was remotely dope for Bad Boy throughout the 90s, but there are also a few handled on here by a then up-and coming Kanye West, like "That's What's Happenin", "Stir Crazy" with Eminem, "You're All Alone", "Too Many Ho's" feat Jermain Dupri, and "Hot The One" featuring Oh!Ficial. Other tracks include "I'm Madd", "How We Do" feat Puff Daddy, "Ghetto" feat Raekwon & Carl Thomas, "Surviving The Game", "Whatever", "They Just Don't Know" feat Nature & Black Rob, "Esta Loca" feat the Beatnuts, "Shysty Broads", "Car Jack", and the pre-Aftermath era "How To Rob" by 50 Cent.
