✨✧ Masta AceLong Hot Summer ... LP
M3, 2004. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... $28.99 31.99 On February 18, 2022
A solid early 00s effort from Delicious Vinyl/Cold Chillin survivor Masta Ace – with production by 9th Wonder, Spinna, Dug Infinite and others! Back around 01' Masta Ace caught us off guard with his damn strong Disposable Arts LP – which immediately went on our short list of all time best hip hop comeback LPs – along with Slick Rick's Art Of Storytelling. Ace mines some of the same lyrical territory on this album – with some straight up, no BS storytelling in which he contemplates his status as one of hip hop's true pioneers, a near legend in his own medium who nevertheless has to deal with day jobs and bills. He also dips into less introspective territory, more common street hop stuff, but hits that pretty deftly, too. Tracks include "Big City", "Good Ol' Love", "Da Grind" featuring Apocalypse, "Beautiful", "Soda & Soap" featuring Jean Grae, "The Ways", "Wutuwankno" featuring Edo G, "Oh My God" featuring the Beatnuts & Rahzel and more. LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ CommonCan I Borrow A Dollar? ... LP
Relativity, 1992. Very Good+ ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Common's full length debut! This one's a little more uptempo and overall less serious than "Resurrection", and a few cuts that are as good as anything on that LP – Common went on to a pretty diverse career, and this is the blueprint material for his most respected records. Production by Twilight Tone, Immenslope, and the Beatnuts. Includes "Penny For My Thoughts", "Soul by the Pound", "Take It Eazy", "Breaker 1/9", "Two Scoops of Raisins", "Tricks Up My Sleeve", Blows To The Temple" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Grey label pressing. Cover has some sticker remnants in front. Label has a name in pen.)

✨✧ Jurassic 5Power In Numbers ... LP
Interscope, 2002. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Out Of Stock
All praise to the mighty J5 – reminding us in the early 00s that hip hop could still be about funky, party rockin' beats and flowing on beat, with witty, intelligent rhymes – and sound as fresh as ever! This album's mostly produced by Cut Chemist, though Nu Mark has a hand in a number of tunes, and there's a couple of tracks by the Beatnuts. Akil, Chali 2na, Zaakir and Marc 7 don't do as much of the unison, sing song style that'd been their trademark in the past, but their back to the old school/new school style is still intact. 17 cuts in all, including "Freedom", "If You Only Knew", "Break", "React", "A Day At The Races", "After School Special", "High Fidelity" and "I Am Somebody", plus the Kool Keith skit "DDT" and Cut Chemist's cut'n'paste "Acetate Prophets". LP, Vinyl record album
