✨✧ Michael GarrickMoonscape ... LP
Trunk (UK), 1964. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
One of the earliest albums as a leader from British pianist Michael Garrick – a set that pre-dates his amazing Argo albums of the 60s, and which was originally issued on 10" vinyl, in a limited pressing of 99 copies! The sound here is no less radical than Garrick's better-known albums of the decade – a mixture of angular edges and more open, free-flowing lines that soar out beautifully with a great sense of joy and life! Although a trio album, the record has all of the same imagination as Garrick's sextet dates – a sense of space and creative energy that's simply breathtaking – supported by some excellent original compositions by Garrick, and played by a trio that includes Dave Green on bass and Colin Barnes on drums. Titles include "Sketches Of Israel", "Moonscape", "Music For Shattering Supermarkets", "Take Off", and "Man Have You Ever Heard". LP, Vinyl record album

Soundsational (Italy), 1960s/1970s. Very Good+ 2LP ... Out Of Stock
Second volume in this very cool series of lost grooves – and one that has a distinct Latin/Brazilian influence! The tunes are all nicely uptempo, and are a well-picked selection of rare jazzy grooves from obscure overseas and American sources. Titles include "Upa Neguinho" by Trio Camara, "One For Carter" by Johnny Lytle, "Night In Tunisia" by Buck Clarke Sound, "Taoma" by Guru Guru, "Niara" by Doug Lucas, "Ursula" by Michael Garrick Septet, "Bluesology" by Zumbo Cinco, "Memphis Underground" by Paul Kuhn, "Amalgam" by Duley Moore Trio, and "Babo" by Johnny Lytle. (Funky Compilations, Jazz) LP, Vinyl record album
