De La SoulShoomp (dirty, clean, inst, acapella)/Much More (dirty, clean, inst, acapella) ... 12-inch
AOI/Fat Beats, 2003. Sealed ... $6.99
2 De La Soul tracks, produced by Jay Dee! "Shoomp" has a blunt synth blip feel, with Jay Dee making nice use of a Tom Tom Club beat. It all plays along very well with guest Sean Paul's dancehall calling. "Much More" has a soft and soulful guest spot by Yummie, and the track recalls the "Baby Phat" single quite a bit. Two nice ones from De La – showing that they still have some skills to share, and that they're still going strong despite some highs and lows since the Stakes Is High days. 12-inch, Vinyl record
(With hype sticker.)

Pseudo SlangHardscrabble ... Cassette
Baby Steps Again, 2018. New Copy ... $9.99 11.99
Pseudo Slang's back with a solid batch of rhyme-centric, jazzy beats-backed neo classic hip hop! Based in Chicago and with roots Buffalo, NY, there's nothing pseudo about Pseudo Slang's craft...it's the real thing. They have a vibe that's reminiscent of (but never overly indebted to) earlier Common in the scene setting rhymes, the jazzy soul beats and rhymes of groups like Slum Village and Tribe Called Quest and others – even though it's largely the work of the core duo, Pseudo Slang's tracks have rich enough of a feel to recall classic group rap. We've dug 'em for years, and they haven't let us down yet. Includes "Feel Me Remix", "Any Other Place", "Dark Gracious", "BBQ & A Flic", "Aloe In The Hallways", "Butterlude", "Estetiks", "Just Talk" and "Tomorrowtro". (Cassettes, Hip Hop) Cassette
(Orange-tinted colored cassette – limited to just 250 copies!)
