Dilated PeoplesPlatform ... LP
ABB/Get On Down, 2000. New Copy 2LP Gatefold (reissue)... $24.99
Neo-classic boombap from Dilated Peoples –a team rooted strongly in time-honored group rap, compelling beats and turntablism – setting out to live up to the classic craft rather than re-invent the wheel, and deliver the goods track for track here! Not quite as nostalgic ans the more straight-up throwback rappers of the late 90s and early 00s, which was proves Dilated Peoples all the wiser, as this one has hardly aged a day. Tracks include "Right On" featuring Tha Alkaholiks, "The Shape Of Things To Come" featuring Aceyalone, "No Retreat" featuring B Real, "Work The Angles", "The Last Line Of Defense", "Annihilation", "Ear Drums Pop", "Expanding Man", "Triple Optics", "The Main Event", "Service", "The Platform" and four more. LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Little BrotherListening (with bonus 7 inch) ... LP
ABB, 2002. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Out Of Stock
The debut from North Carolina organic hip hop crew Little Brother – an unexpectly strong and soulful effort in the vein of the Roots, mid-career Tribe Called Quest, and early Slum Village! The trio of Phonte, Pooh, and 9th Wonder have been kicking around Durham, NC and the southern hip hop scene for a while – representing the Justus League collective and other groups – but they have a stronger foundation with Little Brother that should make them known the world over if there's any true justice out there! Fans of the Okayplayers and the above mentioned artists will find much to love here – laid back, southern-drenched soulful hip hop (as opposed to hip hop soul) – and let's all thank ABB for thinking beyond the Bay, nurturing some truly worthy status quo defying artists, and giving the south some left coast indie support!!! Tracks include "Morning", "Whatever You Say", "Make Me Hot", "Shorty On The Lookout", "The Way you Do It", "Speed" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes a bonus 7 inch with the tracks "Mr Dream Merchant" and "Atari 2600"!)

InternetEgo Death ... CD
Columbia, 2015. New Copy ... $11.99
Pure wonderfulness from Internet – a group who seem to bound forward strongly with each new release! These guys are easily one of the most compelling mainstream soul acts we can think of – still very lean, and working with an indie-level vibe – but also able to focus in on hooks and the sorts of catchy elements that are bound to make the group huge in coming years! There's a crispy, crackling sound in the rhythms all the way through – but never in a too-abstract level, as some more sci-fi oriented artists can hit – and although the record features guest work from Janelle Monae, Tyler The Creator, and a few other stars – we actually love the group's own core performances the best. Titles include "Get Away", "Under Control", "Gabby", "Go With It", "Girl", "Special Affair", "Something's Missing", "Partners In Crime (part 3)", and "Penthouse Cloud". (Neo Soul, Hip Hop) CD
