Luis Enrique & His Electronic MenElectronia (LP sleeve edition) ... CD
RCA/Contempo (Italy), 1965. New Copy Gatefold ... Just Sold Out!
A totally great little record – every bit the gem you might expect from the title and the cover! The music is less electronic than infused with all the best electric instrumental styles of the 60s on keyboards and guitar – used on these short, jaunty instrumentals that are somewhere between groovy 60s jazz and soundtrack styles, but sometimes with the twang and punch of surf music too! Production is nice and echo-laden – which makes the keyboards and guitar really ring out strongly – and Luis Enriquez really transforms tunes from a host of sources with this approach, and throws in a few sweet numbers of his own as well. Titles include "Guitar Spyder", "Fender With Anger", "Foglie Gialle", "Ninna Nanna 65", "Spanish Drag", "Incontro A Roma", "Rigel 1", and "Lady Guitar". CD
