✨✧ Johnny HarrisAll To Bring You Morning ... CD
Warner (Japan), 1973. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A soulful symphony from Johnny Harris – one of the hippest maestros on the UK scene at the start of the 70s, stepping out here with a wonderful follow-up to his classic Movements album! Like that one, this set's a blend of rockish instrumentation and wider-ranging orchestrations – kind of a hip take on early 70s soundtrack styles, but with appeal enough to reach out to a much wider audience than before! The guitars are a bit heavier than before – some played by Steve Howe or Chris Spedding – and the rhythms have loads of sly funky touches, mixed in with fuller strings – an approach that definitely makes Harris' work here a UK answer to the American grooves of David Axelrod. Jon Anderson sings guest vocals on part of one track, but the album's mostly instrumental – with Hammond by Roger Coulam, flute by Steve Gregory, and piano by Harris himself. Titles include "Love Song", "Pavane", "Norwegian Wood", "Imagine", and "All To Bring You Morning", a huge cut that's almost 15 minutes long! CD
