Shout Factory, 1964/1966. New Copy 2 Blu-ray DVDs ... $26.99 29.99
The soul & rock holy grail of a concert film – and its long lost sequel/companion film! The Teenage Awards Music International show, better remembered as The TAMI Show, from 1964 – features uber legendary footage of James Brown and The Flames, plus The Beach Boys, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Marvin Gaye, The Rolling Stones and more. Filmed at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on October 29, 1964, and despite the mega star wattage of the performers and the incredible performances themselves, it vanished into cultural limbo after a very brief run in theaters. Also included on this great blu-ray double feature is the long lost follow-up/sequel The Big TNT Show – an event concert emceed by David McCallum (from The Man from UNCLE) and featuring an incredible and wildly diverse lineup! Includes performances by Roger Miller, Ike & Tina Turner, The Ronettes, Bo Diddley, Ray Charles, Petula Clark, The Byrds, The Lovin Spoonful, Modern Folk Quartet and Donovan! The TAMI show feature runs 112 minutes and The Big TNT Show runs 93 minutes – and both have bonus material – trailer, extra commentary, interviews and more! DVD
