✨✧ Lalo SchifrinMan On A Swing (with bonus tracks) ... LP
We Want Sounds (UK), 1974. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
An overlooked 70s soundtrack from the great Lalo Schifrin – in part because it was never issued on vinyl back in the day! The film is an obscure mid-70s murder mystery, but one that's given a great deal of depth and class from Schifrin's music – which is often surprisingly jazzy, despite the setting of the film – almost with the care of some excellent late night LA noir, and in the territory of Johnny Mandel for its sensitivity and color – yet still served up with all the Schifrin sense of swing and groove! The group features some greats from the LA jazz scene – Emil Richards on percussion, Bud Shank on reeds, and Howard Roberts on guitar – and titles include "Rosehaven Motel", "Maggie's Theme", "Evelyn Story", "Wills' Trance", and "Forest Finale". Plus, this first-ever vinyl version features some great bonus material, some unissued – a whopping 30 tracks in all! LP, Vinyl record album

Roy BuddGet Carter ... LP
Beatball (South Korea), 1971. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... About January 5, 2024 (delayed)
Maybe the greatest moment ever from Brit soundtrack genius Roy Budd – an artist who started with his roots in jazz piano, but who really explodes here in a range of groovy styles! The main title is an incredible blend of Eastern percussion and moody jazz – and other cuts bring in some trippier elements, mixed with funkier bits and warmer moments – all at a level that have Budd even outdoing the best late 60s work by Lalo Schifrin! The keyboards are often at the forefront – either acoustic or electric – and the album's got so many groovy grooves, with such variety, it's got a feel that's much richer than the usual soundtrack set. Titles include "Love Is A Four Letter Word", "Carter Takes A Train", "Looking For Someone", "The Girl In The Car", "Livin Should Be This Way", "Manhunt", "Goodbye Carter", and "Hallucinations". Robby PoitevinTecnica De Un Omicidio (180 gram pressing – with bonus tracks) ... LP
Digitmovies (Italy), 1966. New Copy ... $19.99 39.99
Rare work from composer Robby Poitevin – a great action score, put together with a heavy dose of jazz – great vibes, flute, and plenty of other horns – blasting out with a hip style over lots of tight percussion – almost in the manner of spy films from the time, but with a lot more complexity at points, almost the depths of a drama, without any of the sleepy moments – maybe at a level that rivals some of the best Lalo Schifrin work of the period! There's plenty of drama in the progression of tunes, but things are always pretty darn groovy – jazzy 60s action at its best – on titles that include "Alba A New York", "Central Station", "My Man", "L'Ultima Vittima", "Bassifondi", "Clint In Agguato", and "Tecnica Di Un Omicido". LP features 7 more bonus tracks – half of which are unreleased! LP, Vinyl record album
