Arguably the greatest session ever cut by trombonist Herbie Harper as a leader – and if not that, then certainly the one that has the most edge! Herbie's working here in a mode that's still as fluid as some of his other sessions from the 50s, but which also has a bit more of a "rasp" in the tone overall – an approach that's a bit more down-n-dirty than some of his more measured records – and which has some especially nice phrasing from Harper on trombone and Bob Enevoldsen on tenor sax. The rest of the group includes Red Mitchell on bass, Don Overburg on guitar, and Frank Capp on drums – and the whole thing's got a really nicely spontaneous and earthy quality. All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
