One of Steve & Eydie's greatest albums – a set of tunes from films of the 50s and early 60s, set to swinging arrangements by Don Costa! The album features a great original tune – "Two On The Aisle" – one of those magical tunes that was penned for the album, and lost in the shifting sea of time, but which keeps us digging for Steve & Eydie, and the way they handle a cheesy duet unlike anyone else. Other tracks aren't originals, but are equally nice – and titles include "Make Someone Happy", "Namely You", "A Lot Of Livin", and "Language Of Love". And I Love You So
United Artists, 1972. Very Good-
Pretty sweet work from Shirley – recorded around the same vintage as the Something album, and like that one, a record with some cool Brit easy arrangements from the great Johnny Harris – who handled about half the record. The other half's handled by Arthur Greenslade – who does ... LP, Vinyl record album

United Artists, Late 60s. Very Good-
Funky Shirley Bassey! This is a great set of Shirley's groove-happy work cut in the late 60s – hip tunes arranged by UK easy maestro Johnny Harris, best known for his fantastic work on the Stepping Stones record under his own name, forever a beathead classic! Patty
United Artists, 1965. Sealed
A record that reunites Patty Duke with arranger Arnold Goland – whose pop talents in the studio work the same kind of magic with the singer that you'd find in some of the more impressive Brit female pop records of the time! My Hour Of Need
Blue Note, Early 60s. Very Good+
One of the few vocal albums on Blue Note's short lived 89000 series – and one of the only few ever cut by the obscure singer Dodo Greene! Green's got this raspy voice that's just great – somewhat fragile, but not in a wispy way – kind of honest and human, and somewhere in the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Slightly Baroque
Warner, 1966. Very Good
Anita Kerr and her singers take on the baroque pop sound of the late 60s – working here in a way that mixes their smoother vocals with more complicated arrangements and some nice use of electric harpsichord! The approach isn't as over the top baroque as other albums like this – thanks ... LP, Vinyl record album
