Classic Black Ark soul sides served up here with their funky Upsetters versions! Scratch is fully in his element here, a showcase of jaunty rolling island grooves. It's perhaps not his best known work, but like so much of what he cooked up at the Black Ark, totally essential, from the organ driven rhythm of Juks Dread & Big Youth's "23rd Psalm", to the murky, soulful "Ethiopian Land", to the Upsetter's chugging groove under "Well Judged Dub", voiced as "Judgement Day" by Clive Hilton. Also includes Mystic's "Forward With Jah Orthodox", The Bluebells "Come Along", Watty & Tony's "Rise & Shine" and more. 17 tracks on this CD edition.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Peter Tosh's great, strongly strident second album – and easily one of his best! Equal Rights is up to par with the finest Wailers LPs, although this is a bit heavier than the groovy, mellow Legalize It, the more celebrated predecessor. A hugely important, essential set of mid-to-late 70s ... CD

Rare tracks and a fair bit of unreleased dub plates too – a deep dig into the genius of Yabby You during the 70s! There's a dark, brooding intensity to these tracks right from the start – from the deep, bassy bottoms of the dubs – to the prophetic lyrics of the tunes, which often ... CD
