A dramatic score for this all-star, big-budget film about international intrigue – with a setting that runs from Red China to the Vatican, and a set of stars that includes Anthony Quinn, Oskar Werner, David Janssen, and Laurence Olivier. The tracks are all fairly straight orchestral ones, but handled with the usual North complexity and talent. The set's packaged in a very nice gatefold cover with a painted back cover montage – and titles include "Rome", "The Pope Advises Dr Faber", "Coronation", "Kiril's Loneliness", "The Election", and "Arrival Of The Cardinals". (MCA Classics pressing. Cover has a cutout notch.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

An obscure 60s spy soundtrack from Lalo Schifrin – done with a style that's a bit different than some of his other work at the time! There's still a fair bit of the trademark Schifrin elements – bits of jazz, bossa, and Latin touches on the tunes – but there's also a style here ... LP, Vinyl record album
