A smokin bit of salsa from 70s Brooklyn – one of a rare few albums cut by The Brooklyn Sounds, a totally great group with a really firey spirit! The set grooves hard from the first moment – with tight horn blasts over fast rhythm, and soulful vocals that really capture the spirit of the time. Lyrics are in Spanish, but the appeal of the grooves is international – and caught at that perfect moment when 60s Latin soul was giving way to 70s salsa – with all the youthful energy of both genres firmly in place. Titles include "Calma Tu Llanto", "Las Margaritas", "Guaguanco Tropical", "Libre Soy", "Chango Santero", and "Esta Vida".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
