The reeds of Veronique Magdelenat are at the center of this trio set – not only some relatively free alto sax, but also very unique sounds from a curved soprano sax as well! The rest of the group features Bernard Santacruz on bass and Christian Rollet on drums and percussion – and the energy of the record really seems directed by Magdelenat's playing, which is great – very open and reaching for new sounds all the time – then pulling in the bass and drums once she finds the right space. Titles include "Petit Caillou", "Interstitiel", "Finality", "A Claire Voie", and "Tabaiaut 2".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
