Sweet jazzy soul from Angie Bofil – recorded in 1979 with Dave Grusin, who gives the album a smooth edge that really works perfectly with her vocals! The set's a perfect blend of the more soulful elements in the fusion scene of the late 70s, combined with Angie's warm vocal style and some excellent songwriting. Titles include "I Try", "Angel Of The Night", "What I Wouldn't Do", "Rainbow Child", "The Voyage", and a great cover of "People Make The World Go Round".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Players Association
Vanguard, 1977. Near Mint-
Great little stuff from The Players Association – one of those groups that you want to write off as throwaway disco before you listen, but who have a great sound when you really get into their music. Jazzman Chris Hills was at the head of the group, and he plays drums in the funky group that ... LP, Vinyl record album

Wild Is Love
Capitol, 1969. Very Good
Nice album of baroque soul from this Chicago diva. Recorded after her big hit "Tell Him", this one has her moving into a more sophisticated style, in which she sings a suite of songs by Dotti Wayne and Ray Rasch. Richard Evans did the arrangements, and the whole thing is a great relic ... LP, Vinyl record album

If This Is Heaven

Classic Hi material from Ann Peebles!
