Fantastic album of hardcore funky cuts, with a great jazzy tip on the righteous solos laid down by Maceo and the band. Recorded in the time that Maceo was away from James' band, with a crack lineup of players including Melvin Parker, Jimmy Nolan, Bernard Odom, and L.D. Williams. Nearly every cut is a lost funky gem, with funky bass, hard drums, and cool horn solos with a large sense of humor. Highlights include "Southwick", "Got to Get 'Cha", "Maceo", and the fantastic "Funky Women". This one was even hard to find in the old days – just another reason to be glad you're living in this reissue-happy time!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

The second album by this legendary 70s funk combo – best known as Herbie Hancock's backing band, but sounding great here on their own. Totally great – and a record you probably know nothing about! The album's one of the greatest ever to come out of the Hotlanta scene of the 70s – a tight batch of funk tracks with a heck of a lot of guitar. The set was produced by Tommy Stewart, of "Bump and Hustle" fame ... LP, Vinyl record album

Ahhhhh . . . By this point, George Clinton and the P-Funk team were on top of the world! The record is a masterful dose of slick mothership jamming – perfectly woven together with that tightly compressed style that really served Clinton's production work well. The tracks are long, but never ... LP, Vinyl record album
