A great little Holiday album from Peggy Lee – one of those rare efforts that's a lot more than just a quickie batch of Christmas tunes cut in the studio on a hot July afternoon! Instead, Peggy's working here with Billy May to craft an album of surprising poise and presence – deeper than most of her jauntier Capitol recordings of the time, and featuring a well-chosen batch of tunes that even includes a few originals written by Peggy! A few tunes have a children's chorus that we could do without, but others are much more mature – and titles include "The Christmas List", "Christmas Carousel", "Deck The Halls", "The Tree", "The Christmas Riddle", "Don't Forget To Feed The Reindeer", and a great version of "The Christmas Waltz". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
