A stone classic from Brother James – a wonderful 60s album built around the incredible track "Cold Sweat", served up here in a massive two-part version, and surrounded by a good range of material that really show James in a great variety of styles! The Godfather's vocals burst out nicely with some wonderfully soulful overtones, no matter what the tune – and titles include "Fever", "Good Rockin Tonight", "Back Stabbin", "Mona Lisa", "Come Rain Or Come Shine", "Nature Boy" and "I Want To Be Around" – as well as "Cold Sweat (parts 1 & 2)". (Black label pressing, with deep groove – nice and clean, and with nice cover too!)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Mandala, 1972. Very Good+
A great album by The Vibrations – the group who's best known for their 60s Northern Soul tunes, but who really shine in this obscure 70s session! The sound here is quite different than any of the group's other albums – a mixture of 70s funk and harmony styles, done with a more ... LP, Vinyl record album
