Dynamic Sound – 22 Original Hits 22 Original Stars

LP (Item 15219) K-Tel, Early 70s — Condition: Sealed
Nice one! Sure, it's a K-Tel compilation, but there's some nice stuff on here. The big highlight is "Bongo Rock" by the Incredible Bongo Band, which doesn't ever show up on reissues. It's as essential as "Apache" by them, and you get 21 other cuts on here – like "The Payback" by James Brown, "Love's Theme" by Love Unlimited, "Stoned Out Of My Mind" by The Chi-Lites, "Eres Tu" by Mocedades, "One Man Band" by Ronnie Dyson, and "Sexy Mama" by The Moments. Plus, there's lots of other classics by the likes of Tony Orlando & Dawn, Donny Osmond, and B.T.O.!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Captain's Journey
Elektra, 1979. Near Mint-
A masterful fusion set from guitarist Lee Ritenour – one that expands his sound a bit more than usual by adding in vocals on a number of tracks – but in a way that really gets at the mainstream soul influences that bubble through his jazz work!
