Symphonies For Susan – The Very Best Of The Arbors
CD (Item 465186) Date/Rev-Ola (UK), Late 60s — Condition: New Copy
Wonderfully sweet pop from The Arbors – a crucially overlooked vocal quartet from the end of the 60s – one who fused earlier harmony modes with some of the hipper styles of the Sunshine Pop generation! A decade before, and the group might have been a standard Four Freshman copy – but at the time of these recordings, they were plenty open to a range of groovier influences going down with the younger audience – bits of folk, bossa, psychedelic pop, and more – all of which trip nicely through the tunes on the set. The package features 22 tracks from the group's albums for Date – with titles that include "I Can't Quit Her/For Emily", "Touch Me", "Oklahoma River Bottom Band", "Valley Of The Dolls", "Like A Rolling Stone", "Love Is A Groovy Game", "Julie I Tried", "Mas Que Nada", "Day In The Life Of A Fool", "Mr Bus Driver", "Dreamer Girl", "You Are The Girl", "Hey Joe", and "Symphony For Susan". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
