Of Horses, Kids, & Forgotten Women (180 gram pressing)
LP (Item 607827) Capitol/4 Men With Beards, Late 60s — Condition: New Copy
A Capitol Records killer from Hearts & Flowers – the kind of softer, more sensitive sort of record you might normally expect to hear over at late 60s A&M! The music's a blend of instrumental folksiness with touches of Sunshine Pop – and interestingly, there's some instrumental passages that give the record a much deeper sound than the usual folk pop outing – as does the production on the vocals, which abstracts the harmonies into this offbeat mode that's really wonderful! Jimmy Bond – one of our favorite members of the Wrecking Crew – handled the arrangements with a wonderfully sublime feel – and the record sparkles on transcendent tunes that include "Colour Your Daytime", "Ode To A Tin Angel", "When I Was A Cowboy", "Rock & Roll Gypsies", "She Sang Hymns Out Of Tune", "Second Hand Sundown Queen", and "Highway In The Wind". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
