Great sound from this Chicago group – a quintet of four gals and one guy, with a wicked sound that reinvents psych pop from the 60s onward! The core sound has this wonderful blend of organ and fuzzy guitar, but produced with a nice sort of crispness that reminds us a lot of Creation Records in the glory days – as do the wonderful vocals, which have this way of layering down in the instrumental lines of the tunes – making the music even more hypnotic! The album's a killer all the way through – the sort of well-done debut we didn't know anyone did this well anymore – and titles include "Rather See Me Dead", "Shapeshifter", "Bobby Blueheart", "Strange Effect", "V Is For Vulture", "Field Fire On Jordan Street", and "Golden Chain".
