A surprisingly strong set of previously unreleased Johnny Cash – recorded with producer Billy Sherrill, mostly in 1984, but with a couple sessions from '81 – and it's honestly as great, and a heck of a lot better than a bunch of Johnny's music that actually DID see commercial release ... CD

A beautiful early 70s debut LP from a then 20-year-old, Halifax reared Catherine Howe – produced and arranged by US jazz pianist Bobby Scott in a mode that manages to feel lush and opulent while never belying Catherine's warmth, intimacy and maturity – and quite possibly the best ... CD

Really wonderful work from Hubert Laws – maybe one of his greatest albums for CTI! The record has a laidback feel that's similar to most of Laws' other work for the label, but somehow the live setting also brings out a bit more edge – and gives the record a gently funky groove that's ... CD

A killer collection of Italo House tracks – maybe the best we've ever seen to really get at the heart of the genre! Disco never died in Italy during the 80s – as evidence by the number of dance compilations from the decade with a boot-shaped image on the front – and Italian DJs ... CD
