Latino Con Soul
LP (Item 374106) West Side Latino, Mid 60s — Condition: New Copy
Killer material from the mid 60s – recorded for United Artists after Ray's initial watusi work for Tico – and in a similar style that has mixes together Ray's Charanga Moderna sound with some more boogaloo and Latin Soul numbers! The record's a key bridge between these two chapters of Ray's career – and shows that he was an early player in the change of the Latin sound of the 60s – hitting hard with a tight, young jazzy group on this excellent set! Titles include "Trompeta y Trombon", "Boogaloo Con Soul", "Do You Dig It?", "Fuego y Pa'Lante", "Happy Birthday Everybody", "El Picor", and "Bilongo". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
