Fuzzy Pink Nightgown/A Breath Of Scandal

CD (Item 615807) Kritzerland, 1957/1960 — Condition: New Copy

Two sexy scores – back to back on a single CD! First up is Billy May's great soundtrack for Fuzzy Pink Nightgown – a 1957 film with Jane Russell in the lead, scored by Billy with all the right sexy tones to match her figure! The music leans heavily on jazz – arranged with those great May touches you'd know from his famous work for Capitol Records at the time – done with lots of great twists and turns that keep things interesting, even when eroticizing. Titles include "Dandy", "Kidnapping Scene", "Introduction", "Beach House", "Malibu Beach Mambo", and "Patio". Next is Alessandro Cicognini's score for A Breath Of Scandal – music that features a few vocal variations on the theme by Maurice Chevalier, mixed with instrumental numbers that often have a nice mix of playfulness and melancholy – not unlike some of Nino Rota's themes from the time – and a few more waltz-like numbers. Instrumentation includes dreamy organ in a few spots – and titles include "Courtly Humor/Olympia", "Austrian Dreams Waltz/Finale", "A Breath Of Scandal", and "Prelude/Marcia Alla Tedesca/Olympia/Can Can". (Limited edition of 1000 copies.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
