One of the best records in years from this Brazilian legend – a beautifully stripped-down set that mostly features Djavan on vocals and acoustic guitar – singing in an intimate space that's much more like Toquinho records from the 70s than it is any of Djavan's older work! There's a great change here from some of the more fully-arranged modes that Djavan used for so many years – and the intimacy is wonderful – a great way to hear Djavan's tremendous vocals right up close, with subtle inflections that almost take us back to the bossa generation, but with some of the more sophisticated elements that the singer brought to Brazilian music over the years.
