Commitment – The Complete Recordings 1981 to 1983
CD (Item 587351) No Business (Lithuania), 1980/1983 — Condition: New Copy
Rare work from this unusual and overlooked ensemble – a set that not only features their rare recordings for the Flying Panda label, but also some previously unreleased live material too! The group has a really great approach – sometimes very free and unstructured, but often working with a spare idea at the core – almost a zen-like poetic sensibility, in which the smallest musical utterances have great power – then offset by even more powerful outbursts as well. Players include Will Connell on flute, alto sax, bass clarinet, and wood flutes; Jason Kao Hwang on violin and viola; William Parker on bass; and Zen Matsuura on drums – and titles include "Continuous", "Whole Grain", "Famine", "The Web Of Forces", "Ocean", "The Pathway", and "Mountain Song". (Limited edition of 1000 copies.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
