Mediacracy
CD (Item 592030) Tramp (Germany), 2012 — Condition: New Copy
Hard-wailing Afro Funk from JariBu – a group who not only continue the best musical legacy of the 70s, but the political one as well! There's a tightness to the group that we really love – a way of starting a tune right on the money, and making you feel like everything is exactly where it should be – the horn parts, keyboard lines, and wicked rhythms on the bottom – all a perfect accompaniment to the message-minded lyrics of the tunes – although there's also plenty of instrumental numbers that really let the group shine too! And although the Arkestra hail from Japan, they've got a rich, soulful approach that easily sits alongside the best of the Nigerian scene from years back – and also get the right sort of production to make the album sparkle nicely too. Tracks include "Mediacracy", "Suffer Dey", "legend Of Yoruba", "Tricky Liars", "Maneno Ya Roho", "Natural Vibes", and "Mvua Dance". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
