Jimmy Reed, recorded in Chicago, in a rare indie set that's got some sweet electric touches – and some odd undercurrents as well! The rhythms are right on the money, as are Jimmy's vocals and harmonica – but there's also some pretty cool wah wah effects on the guitar at times – which creates this slightly funky, slightly offbeat feel to the record – a great style that's a little bit more messed-up than usual for this type of album, but in a subtle way too. Titles include the instrumental "Funky Funky Soul", plus "Over The Hump", "Cry Before I Go", "Big Legged Woman", "Crying Blind", and "Hard Walking Hanna (parts 1 & 2)". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
