Wild is hardly a word we'd use to describe Tania Maria – mostly because we love her smooth jazzy approach to Brazilian material, one that's been honed to a "T" by this point, but never dampened in enthusiasm and honesty. The set's a great one with a strong acoustic group – and titles include "Yatra Ta", "Vem Pra Roda", "2 AM", "Sangria", and the great track "Funky Tamborim".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

The approach here ... LP, Vinyl record album

Pretty great stuff from Jobim – later than the classic years, but with a dark sophisticated sound that's pretty darn compelling. The album features larger orchestrations by Claus Ogerman, and in a way, it's similar to the Jobim album on Decca from 1973 – in that it's got all the simple ... LP, Vinyl record album
