Modern soul, funk, R&B and more from the the Detroit Scene – tracks by The Funk Factor w/JazShop, Forte, Jose Hamilton, Faschone and Bluestown on this 8 track vinyl sampler. There's a definite indie feel to the whole set – a sound that's stripped down and very basic, with a really strong focus on the singing talents of the artists, and a bit less on the instrumentation behind them. Some cuts come off with a classic soul feel overall, others have a bit more contemporary mix of beats and keyboards.
