Jazzy magic from the team of Paolo Fedreghini & Marco Bianchi – a record that we'd rank right up there with the best recent work by Nicola Conte and Koop! Like both of those artists, these guys manage to bring a heck of a lot of real jazz into their grooves – working with round acoustic bass tones, searing tenor solos, and modal piano lines to forge a groove that takes us back to some of our favorite sounds from the MPS/Saba generation – all tweaked with a bit of modern dancefloor rhythms in the spirit of the best work from the pair's Schema labelmates. Many of the tracks on the set have vocals – sung in English and swirling in the mix in the way that the lyrics come through on Conte and Koop's albums – but even the non-vocal tracks have a sense of soul that comes through in the instrumentation, creating a warmth that makes this album one of the top of our list from the past few years!
