Leh Jani
LP (Item 589544) Sublime Frequencies/Sham Palace, 1998 — Condition: New Copy
Amazing stuff – and easily the most amazing record we've heard so far from Omar Souleyman! Unlike some of the other Sublime Frequencies sets, which are more recent, this one hails from the late 90s – and features music originally circulated in the Middle East on cassette – finally brought forward by the label into a much more durable format! The set features one extended performance – the song "Leh Jani", which lasts for over an hour – presented here in a way that really replicates the live energy that Souleyman brought to his work for celebrations and special events – shifting mood, style, and sound slowly over time – while also managing to jam with accompanying keyboards and electric bozouki! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
