Sweet Latin easy – grooves that aren't totally authentic Latin, but a great variation from Chico Arnez! The Chico album is a cracker – a mix of percussive Latin modes and swinging 60s instrumental touches – all in a blend that's like some of the best straight Nico Gomez numbers from the time – touched, perhaps, with a bit of European drama as well – yet all sounding a lot groovier than you might expect! Titles include "Mexico 70", "One Mint Julep", "The Peanut Vendor", "This Is Chico", "One For Pancho", and "Mas Que Nada". From Chico With Love is very groovy – an album that's definitely got a Latin inspiration, but which also revels in some of the sexier, slinkier sides of 60s easy listening too – particularly that great mode from the European scene at the time.
