Beautiful stuff from the man who gave the world the Barbarella Soundtrack! Bob Crew leads his groovy Generation group here – and they create some wonderfully spacey, groovy, breathy, and sexy 60s pop together! The album features a remake of the "Barbarella" theme, plus some great mellow groovers like "Let Me Touch You", "An Angel Is Love", "Two For The Road", "Stella By Starlight", and "Wives & Lovers". (Quad pressing. Cover has some wear.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Awakening
Warner, 1973. Very Good+
One of their best 70s LPs – with a great spacey sound, and arrangements that are a lot more complicated than their earlier albums. Contains the incredible cut "Cosmic Sea", which has a great funky bassline and cool flanged drums under a string section. It begins with a nice break, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sounds Of Today
Alshire, Late 60s. Very Good+
Groovy set of pop stuff, with a real "turned on" sound – as the label says. Monty Kelly did the arrangements, and he gave the music a pretty groovy feel – and contributed the great originals "Blues For The Guru", "Strings For Ravi", and "Stone ... LP, Vinyl record album

RCA, 1962. Very Good
A crazy hammond organ workout on a variety of standards and a few originals. This is smoking stuff that has a jazzy swinging feel, but is marked with the virtuosity implied by "13 fingers". Sort of like stuff by the John Buzon Trio. Also includes "Bach Goes Berserk", "Sir ... LP, Vinyl record album

Going Places
A&M, 1965. Very Good
Herb Alpert's definitely Going Places by the time of this set – and his trademark Tijuana Brass sound proves itself to be a great fit for just about any sort of number! The album kicks off with the wonderful "Tijuana Taxi", a sublimely jaunty tune that almost takes Herb into ... LP, Vinyl record album

A very cool tourist package – put together with an LP of music, plus a heavy book of full color photos and images – all as a giveaway to attendees of the 1969 American Bankers Association conference! LP, Vinyl record album

Libra, 1973. Very Good+
A weird one! In the wake of Oh Calcutta, there were a few experiments in nude musicals – a strange early 70s sub-genre that's probably better remembered more through jokes in Mad Magazine, than by the actual works that filled it up. This one's definitely one of the more compelling – a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Off The Beaten Track
On-U Sound (UK), 1986. Near Mint-
Heavy beats, afrocentric tonal axcursions and crazy dub antics from the Adrian Sherwood produced Bonjo I crew! This go round the group includes Eskimo, Style Scott, Prisoner, Doctor Pablo, Crociodile, and Lizard, and the grooves are as mad as their other early On-U sets, with 9 tracks included ...
