You Can't Get Enough Of That Stuff (180 gram pressing)
LP (Item 597880) Yazoo, 1929 — Condition: New Copy
No hoke here – just a host of rare 78rpm recordings from The Hokum Boys – a wonderfully tight combo with a nice degree of jazz in their music, too! In a way, the tunes here represent a great bridge between blues and early jazz – and point the way towards the rise of acoustic swing in the 30s – thanks to the combo's great piano and guitar-driven rhythms! Vocals are often quite playful – hinting at a Cab Calloway style – and titles include "Pat A Foot Blues", "Selling That Stuff", "It's All Gone Now", "Only The Blues", "Gambler's Blues", "Went To His Head", and "Let Me Have It". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
