The bass is right out front in the picture of the band on the cover – and it's also right out front in the sound of their music as well – helping to drive the rhythms of this Turkish combo with a rolling sound that's almost funky at times! Bunalim hail from the same Turkish scene as Erkin Koray – and the group's founding bassist also played on Koray's classic Elektronik Turkuler – a record that's quite similar to this one with its mix of Turkish roots, psychedelic roots, and trippy production! And although the group is represented here with material recorded over a 3 year period, with a shifting instrumental lineup – there's still a core sound that's really unified, with plenty of great Andalusian elements in the mix! Titles include "Basak Saclim", "Bunalim", "Tas Var Kopek Yok", "Yollar", "Yeter Artik Kadin", "Guzel", "Ayrilik Olmasaydi", and "Bir Dunya Da Bana Ver".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Episodes
Void, 1979. New Copy (reissue)
Rare psych folk sounds from the late 70s! Episodes is really cool blend of acoustic and electric sounds, with the vocals, acoustic guitar and bass all handled by Soutar – backed by lead, often buzzingly electric guitar by Mike Tedesco, flute by Elyse Clark, and backing vocals by both (we ... Paragon/Out-Sider (Spain), 1970. New Copy (reissue)
A set that's a bit more tuneful and well-written than the first album by Reign Ghost – but a record that still has all the raw power and spooky feel of that debut! As before, the vocals are by male singer Bob Bryden and female singer Lynda Squires – who each take the lead at times, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Evening Colours (180 gram vinyl)
Lion, 1975. New Copy (reissue)
Amazing music from Laurance Vanay – actually a recording name for Jacqueline Thibault, a hell of a great keyboardist but an artist the label thought would be better off billed as a man! The sound here is halfway between the spacey experiments of Brian Eno and Cluster, and some of the more ... LP, Vinyl record album

Turkofon/Pharaway Sounds (Spain), 1974. New Copy Gatefold
A masterpiece of Turkish psychedelia – and quite possibly the greatest album ever from Turkish psychedelic maestro Erkin Koray – a mad blend of sounds that definitely lives up to its "elektronik" title! Most numbers feature a weird blend of electric guitar and baglama – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jungle Rot
Solid/Obscure Oxide, 1975. New Copy (reissue)
An American psychedelic classic from mid 70s Baltimore – awash in heavy fuzz and lots of electric effects! Jungle Rot has a raw, earnest quality that few other records can match – perhaps the first albums by MC5 or The Stooges – or the very first EP by Pussy Galore – but it' ... LP, Vinyl record album

Turkuola/Pharaway Sounds (Spain), 1976. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)
Psychedelic folk-rock from the Turkish scene of the 70s – a real criss-crossing of styles, carried off with strong emotive effect by protest singer Selda! Selda (1979)
Turkuola/Pharaway Sounds (Spain), 1979. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)
Selda packs a heck of a punch on this late 70s set – a record that's still got all the wonderful elements of her previous three albums – that unique mix of folksy roots, protest themes, and nicely trippy production! Selda's holding an electrified version of the baglama on the front ... LP, Vinyl record album

Elektra, 1969. New Copy (reissue)
The fiery debut of the Stooges! It isn't quite the out-there masterpiece that Fun House would be, and it's not quite as aurally blistering as Raw Power (we might be able to blame producer John Cale for this) but it's still one of the most powerful rock records of the era! Great big Dee-troit rawk, like no other group of madmen could have ever created! This is the album that established the Motor City as the capital of late 60s/early 70s gonzo psychedelic rock, and still stands as probably the most massive live recording of the era.
