CD (Item 606316) MGM/Quartet (Spain), 1964 — Condition: New Copy

Great music from David Lee – sounds that are already chilling enough, even without the on-screen images of Vincent Price in this blood-laden Roger Corman classic! Lee's got a perfect way of scoring the film – creating a sense of tension right from the start – eerie, suspenseful passages that totally creep us out right away – even though the overall instrumentation is relatively conventional! But that's the genius of music like this – creating a sense of the offbeat within the familiar – then really letting things loose as the soundtrack moves on. Titles include "Affront To Alfredo", "Prospero's Court", "Francesca", "Red Death/The Fire", "The Satan Mark/The Prison", "The Black Wood", "The Ape & The Dwarf", "Gino & The Red Death", and "Witchcraft".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
