CD (Item 613705) Hi Records/Ultra Vybe (Japan), 1971 — Condition: New Copy

A rare rock album recorded for Hi Records – the legendary Memphis imprint that was mostly home to southern soul, but which reminds us here that the city still had plenty of great rock going on in the 70s too! The album's got rough edges that are quite different than the tight production you'd hear on Hi soul sessions – and almost has the feel of some obscure small label set from the time – not just in the way the offbeat guitar phrasing comes together, but in the overall presentation of the lyrics, and even the cover too! All tracks are original, with a nice earthy quality – and titles include "Broken Love", "United", "Everybird", "Everywhere In My Town", "For La Hudala", and "The Laplander".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
