Japanese Jazz Plays PopsVarious
CD (Item 626756) Sony (Japan), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: New Copy
Sweet groovy grooves from Japan – a host of wickedly wonderful tunes played by some of the country's hippest jazzmen of the late 60s and early 70s – all of whom completely transform songs from American pop! The tracks here are all instrumental, but based around some familiar chart numbers of the time – taken up by these Japanese players, re-arranged, and turned into sweet vehicles for creative instrumentation! Most numbers feature larger ensembles with a key soloist – and titles include "Scarborough Fair" by Takeshi Inomata, "America" by Akira Ishikawa, "I Say A Little Prayer" by Nobuo Hara, "We've Only Just Begun" by Iyoshi Kaoru, and "Melody Fair" by Sound Limited. 20 tracks in all! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
