Dubbing With Horns

Add Item to Want List
LP (Item 588477) Jamaican Recordings (UK), 1970s — Condition: New Copy

Stellar dubs from Tommy McCook – co-founder of The Skatalites and master studio player for myriad classic ska and rocksteady recordings – great stuff from the pivotal 70s period! The style here is more richly arranged than a lot of the dub from the 70s onward – with lots of space for more instruments into the mix, still heavy with echoey, dubby atmospherics. Musicians include The Aggrovators, Soul Syndicate, Sly & Robbie, Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Aston Barrett and Earl Smith. Tracks include Includes "Tommy's Hop", "Take This Fruit", "Jumper's Dub", "Merry Up", "Aggrovating Horns", "Dub Train", "Waltzing Rockers", "Dub Fever", "Dub For Ethiopia", ", "Chantdown Babylon With Horns", "Dub Creation" and more.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
