Ray Charles from the height of his early career – caught live on two French performances from 1961! The material is 50 years old, but still has a raw intensity that holds up beautifully today – and maybe, just maybe, tops some of the over-seen images of Ray from later years that have circulated so much since his death. Given the date, most of the tunes are from Charles' Atlantic years – and titles include "Hornful Of Soul", "Doodlin", "One Mint Julep", "Sticks & Stones", "Let The Good Times Roll", "What'd I Say", "Ruby", and "I Believe To My Soul".
