Il Peccato
CD (Item 553625) Quartet (Spain), 1962 — Condition: New Copy
An overlooked Italian score from the early 60s – and one with the same jazzy spirit as some of the best of the French new wave generation! We'll be honest in saying that we've not heard much by Antonio Perez Olea – but he does a wonderful job here – working woodwinds in sweet little angles, using jazz guitar to underscore things playfully, and creating this moody, intimate feel with the music – all very much with the noirish spirit of the cover image! A few moments get a bit more playful with larger horns and Latin rhythms – but these tracks help flesh out the sound without ever going too far – making the whole thing more than just a straight jazz album. Titles include "Serenata", "Desideiro", "Quattro Passi In Citta", "Luna Park", and "Spanish Boogie". (Limited edition of 500 copies.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
