One of the few albums ever cut by singer Mildred Anderson -- a bluesy vocalist, but one with a strong touch of jazz as well! The format of this record really helps bring out the jazzier side of Mildred's music -- as it features small combo backing, with work from players that include Al Sears on tenor, Robert Banks on organ, and Lord Westbrook on guitar -- all great musicians who do a good job of skirting the bluesier side of the spectrum, while still always making things swing! Anderson's vocals have a raspy tone we really love -- very honest, and nicely free of any blues cliches. Titles include "Mistreater", "I'm Lost", "Hard Times", "No More In Life", "What More Can A Woman Do", "Everybody's Got Somebody But Me", and "What More Can A Woman Do".
