Le Telefon (180 gram pressing)
LP (Item 603307) Barclay/Universal (France), 1966 — Condition: New Copy
Mod sounds and playful grooves from the mighty Nino Ferrer – one of the hippest cats working in mid 60s French pop! The sound's as stylish as Nino's look on the cover – and is frenetic one minute, cool and laidback the next – a wonderfully fleshed-out kind of approach that makes the album way more than just a string of singles and covers! Most numbers are originals, and Nino's got a very hip group behind him – one that features Hammond from Bernard Estardy, and tenor and piano from a young Manu Dibango. Ferrer's vocals are nice and raw on some numbers – almost a rockin' soul sort of mode – and titles include "Le Blues Des Rues Desertes", "Le Telefon", "Mon Copain Bismarck", "NF In Trouble", "Je Vous Dis Bonne Chance", and "Mao Et Moa". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
